In Bangladesh, males remain lungi mainly. There is no trend in this dress among
the girls. Most men read the dress in their daily work. From the point of view,
it is a regular and essential dress of the Bengalis lungi. Maulana Abdul Hamid

Although lungis are not usually worn in any particular ceremony 
in Bangladesh, but designs, bookcakes, silk lungis are often traditionally given as gifts to the bride during marriage. On the special day, the practice of offering lungis to teachers and imams in some areas is still common.


Although Bengali girls do not wear lungi, tribal women 
in the south-eastern region of Bangladesh wear similar 
clothes to look like lungi. The tribals call this dress stop.
