It has been found in the study that Tamil Nadu is currently being launched in South India. Vesti, a type of dress, is believed to be Lungi's predecessor. In the history, the muslin cloth was exported from Tamil to Bengali. In the archaeological article of Babylon, the word 'Sindhu' was found. In Tamil, Sindh means clothes or clothes. Tamil Nadu fishermen community called 'Baradavargal' played an important role in the export of lungi in West Africa, Egypt or Egypt and Mesopotamia. Over time, flowers and other designs in white cloth were later portrayed as lungi. Currently, Lungi is more popular in Bangladesh, Burma, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, and West African countries.
Lungi is usually seen in all Bangladeshi communities wearing men, although it is not worn on any special occasion or day. Lungi in Bangladesh mostly uses men as daily routine clothing. The design of yarn is made of boutiques or silk lungi, which is sometimes given as a wedding gift. On the occasion of a special day, teachers of the mosque and mosques offering lungi gifts are still going on.
Although the tribal women of southeastern Bangladesh wear similar clothes to look like lungi, Bengali women do not wear lounges. To the tribals, this dress is known as Thami. In the neighboring country of West Bengal, the popularity of Luni is increasing rapidly, instead of Dhuri. Some Bengali do not wear lungi, because they think that lungi is very informal and not fit, although it is comfortable and many are using it. Slowly the use of lungi is decreasing in Bangladesh, but it is still the category of most men in Bangladesh.
